Sometimes You Should Retreat Before Pressing On

Before modern military tactics were developed, it was common for the General to move to an elevated position to observe the battle. Typically, soldiers fighting face-to-face with their enemy were so focused on survival that they lacked perspective on whether they were winning or losing until the battle was over. The General’s view, however, prompted adjustments to increase the likelihood of victory.

Snowflakes and Advisors: No Two Are Exactly Alike

Thursday, January 28, 2016

A snowflake’s a snowflake, right? Wrong.

Put those tiny, frosted water crystals under a microscope and you’ll discover that no two are exactly alike. Each snowflake has its own unique pattern, size and shape.

Just like snowflakes, our advisors at Integrated Financial Group are unique. This is the essence of our Brain Trust: the individual knowledge and experience each advisor member contributes to the group. Together we may look similar, but separately we’re different.

Last week we held our annual two-day conference in Atlanta for advisor members to “Discover Their Uniqueness” and how that can be reflected in each of their businesses, with their clients and their staff. Peer-to-peer sessions, along with knowledgeable guest speakers David Richman from Eaton Vance and Greg Davis from MFS Investment Management, helped advisors to first identify their individual uniqueness, and then learn ways to apply these unique qualities to their individual businesses. The goal is for advisors to move from the Consortium Retreat back to the day-to-day running of their business and apply the skills they learned to effect best practices for each.

Every year our mission is the same: to unify advisors and focus brainpower in order to deliver the most practical, beneficial and effective financial strategies to clients.
